Estimating Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Estimating Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for various construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience with key industry software, a strong understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Review and markup construction drawings to identify key project details, potential issues, and required adjustments.
  2. Accurately estimate labor required for each project phase, considering complexity and scope of work.
  3. Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other related expenses.
  4. Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to determine amounts of materials required.
  5. Analyze costs to prepare pricing for various construction projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  6. Compile all relevant information to prepare and submit bids for construction projects, including cost breakdowns and timelines.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. At least 5+ years of estimating experience in the construction estimating or related role.
  3. Proficient in using Bluebeam/OST/Plan Swift for digital markups, annotations, digital take-offs, cost estimation, and drawing management.
  4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  5. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  6. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate estimates.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in estimating and pricing structural steel, glazing/storefront systems, civil works, concrete work, demolition work, drywall & framing, and other related scopes of work.
