Software Engineering Director

This is an opportunity to oversee the engineering and delivery of high-impact digital platforms in a fast-growing, innovation-driven organization. We are looking for a tech leader who thrives on building scalable systems, mentoring teams, and shaping the digital future of a purpose-led company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for digital platforms (sales website and customer app), ensuring alignment with business goals and architectural standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 15+ developers, fostering a high-performance culture with a focus on continuous learning and accountability.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of digital projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality execution using Agile methodologies.
  • Design and guide the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance digital systems.
  • Provide hands-on technical direction and problem-solving support maintain a strong coding background to guide the team effectively.
  • Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and UX/UI teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Offer deep expertise in Node.js, Next.js/JavaScript frameworks, MongoDB, and related technologies.
  • Promote best practices in development, including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and security protocols.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure smooth project execution and system stability.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor large, diverse technical teams in dynamic environments.
  • Strong track record of delivering complex digital projects across web and mobile platforms.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Backend: Node.js Frontend: Next.js, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks Mobile: Native or hybrid mobile development Database: MongoDB Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript Skilled in designing and scaling high-performance, resilient digital systems Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices.
  • Capable of defining technical roadmaps aligned with business goals Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services Familiarity with AWS, DevOps, and microservices architecture Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
