Accountant Job Summary:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a respected organization. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. Your duties will include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures.

The ideal candidate combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. You should have experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Bookkeepers. In addition to ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks, your responsibilities may also include reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

You will also manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers, prepare financial statements, assist with tax audits and tax returns, plan, assign, and review staff's work, support month-end and year-end close process, develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance with US GAAP principles, and liaise with financial controllers to improve financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts

• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results

• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status

• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

• Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers

• Prepare financial statements

• Assist with tax audits and tax returns

• Plan, assign, and review staff's work

• Support month-end and year-end close process

• Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles

• Liaise with our Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) is preferred.

• General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook)

• Experience with accounting software packages like Xero and QuickBooks

• Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
