The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as an accountant, preferably within a team environment. They should possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our dynamic team. As an accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures.

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

You will also manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers, prepare financial statements, assist with tax audits and tax returns, plan, assign, and review staff's work, support month-end and year-end close process, develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance with US GAAP principles, and liaise with our Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working as an accountant, preferably within a team environment
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP)
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
