Job Role:

The role of an Equity Researcher Analyst involves building and updating financial models with scenario analysis, conducting DCF, relative, SOTP, and other relevant valuation methods, developing accurate assumptions and valuations with rationale, screening large datasets to identify investment ideas and assisting portfolio managers in their investment decisions, discussing investment ideas and stock updates with stakeholders, preparing earnings reviews, preview, attending conference calls and management meetings, creating and updating databases, collecting and analyzing news, handling ad hoc research requests.

  • Ability to think through drivers and KPIs across a broad range of sectors
  • Good stakeholder relationship management skills and communication skills
  • An eye for details and ability to handle multiple workflows with tight deadlines
  • Numerical abilities
  • Building complex, error-free models with well-defined revenue/cost driver assumptions
  • Carrying out earnings sensitivity analysis
  • Providing own valuation views after carrying out relative, DCF-based or industry appropriate valuations
  • Writing skills
  • Writing in a logical and structured manner that requires minimal rework
  • Writing bulletins and one-page summaries
  • Linking macro/industry analysis to the output
  • Building effective presentations
  • Collecting news; summarizing and providing analysis that adds value; and preparing charts, tables, and databases

Qualifications and Skills:

To excel in this role, you will need excellent financial modeling and research report-writing/presentation making skills. You should also be able to think through drivers and KPIs across a broad range of sectors, have good stakeholder relationship management skills and communication skills, an eye for details, numerical abilities, and the ability to handle multiple workflows with tight deadlines. Additionally, you will need to build complex, error-free models with well-defined revenue/cost driver assumptions, carry out earnings sensitivity analysis, provide your own valuation views, and write in a logical and structured manner. Other required skills include writing bulletins and one-page summaries, linking macro/industry analysis to the output, building effective presentations, and collecting news, summarizing, and providing analysis that adds value.
