Mainframe Storage Engineer Job Overview

A key role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of storage infrastructure is required. The successful candidate will have expertise in mainframe storage subsystems, contributing to data storage and management needs effectively.

Job Description
  • Install, configure, and maintain Mainframe storage subsystems, ensuring compatibility, performance, and reliability.
  • Perform storage capacity planning and provisioning to meet current and future storage requirements.
  • Configure and manage storage management software and utilities to automate storage administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management, as well as experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Mainframe storage subsystems architecture and management.
  • Storage management software and utilities like DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
  • Experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
  • IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Technical V2 or equivalent certification in Mainframe storage administration.
Benefits

  • ~8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
