Infrastructure Technical Expert

**Job Description**

This is a project-based role where you'll have the opportunity to work on various infrastructure projects. Your key responsibility will be to analyze problems and technical issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. You'll also be involved in long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution.

In this role, you'll enjoy deep involvement throughout the lifespan of a project and have the chance to work closely with Architects, Technicians, and PMs. You'll be responsible for analyzing complex technical issues, identifying the root cause, and implementing solutions to resolve them.

You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and knowledge in various areas of infrastructure, including system programming, database management, and network administration.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

  • 9-14 years of experience in Mainframe IMS System Programming.
  • Experience with SMP/E maintenance utility, DBMS security interfaces, familiar with DBMS connection interfaces to other subsystems (DB2/CICS/etc) and network VTAM/IP functionality.
  • Experience in IMS backup and recovery scenarios - traditional image copy, FLASH, mirroring etc., methodology.
  • Plan and perform Health Checks and Analysis.
  • Very good knowledge of IMS database organization.
  • Performance analysis & tuning for DBMS subsystems.
  • IMS Monitoring Tool- Proficient- Required Monitoring tool.
  • Proficient in JCL, TSO/SDSF/JES2/SYSVIEW/SMP/E.
  • Ability to debug & diagnose DBMS system and utility software.
  • Requires IMS Sysplex experience & data sharing expertise.
  • Various types of IMS restarts (COLD/WARM/ERE).
  • Knowledge about IMS SYSGEN process - Defining/Adding Transactions and Programs to the IMS system.
