System Administrator Position

This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of system resources and database management. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Database Administration: Installation, configuration, upgrades, replication setup/monitoring, and user management are crucial aspects of this job.
  • Database Performance Optimization: Monitoring database health, troubleshooting metadata locks, slow queries, replication lag, and optimizing performance are critical tasks that require expertise.
  • Server Management: Managing Linux servers is a significant part of this position, involving user management, process monitoring, cron jobs, package updates, and system resource checks.
  • Backup and Recovery Processes: Implementing and monitoring backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup is essential for business continuity.
  • Patching and Upgrades: Performing routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments is vital to prevent vulnerabilities.
  • Troubleshooting and Escalation: Troubleshooting and resolving L2 support tickets, and escalating complex issues to L3 with proper RCA inputs, demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • DR Drills and System Audits: Participating in DR drills, capacity planning, and system audits ensures the organization's preparedness for emergencies and regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Creating and maintaining runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure continuity.
