Job Overview

Our logistics team is looking for a highly skilled Regional Ocean Freight Manager to oversee and control all ocean-related activities in the region while ensuring compliance, high service quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control all ocean freight operations (FCL, LCL, imports, exports) in the region, focusing on compliance, service excellence, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive profitability for ocean freight services in the region by meeting revenue, gross profit, and cost reduction targets.
  • Nurture strong partnerships with carriers, NVOCCs, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and optimal space allocation.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to boost business growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and increase market share in key trade lanes.
  • Monitor regional performance using KPIs (transit times, documentation accuracy, operational efficiency) and take corrective action to ensure reliable service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain strict adherence to company SOPs, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements, driving process improvements and digitalization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering engagement, capability development, and performance achievement.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is essential for this role. At least 10-12 years of relevant experience in the logistics industry, with a focus on regional or P&L responsibilities are required.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both short-term/tactical and long-term/strategic.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics-related escalations, complaints, and quality matters.
  • Have a solid understanding of sustainability practices in shipping and logistics.
  • Be familiar with international trade regulations and customs procedures.
  • Have exposure to cost-optimization or process re-engineering projects.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Showcase strong leadership, stakeholder management, and team development abilities.
  • Exhibit strong negotiation skills with shipping lines and vendors.
  • Be able to manage conflict and drive alignment across functions.
  • Have experience handling cross-cultural teams and global stakeholders.
