Data Science Leader - Risk Solutions Expertise

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our data science efforts in delivering high-impact risk solutions. As a Data Science Leader, you will be responsible for analyzing loss trends, simulating risk decisioning strategies, and building risk scorecards. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to drive the implementation of risk strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dynamic team to deliver high-impact risk solutions across credit risk (underwriting, exposure controls, and line management).
  • Work with stakeholders across product management, data science, and engineering to build relationships and drive the implementation of risk strategies.
  • Manage challenging time constraints to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend new data that helps in risk differentiation.
  • Analyze loss trends and simulate risk decisioning strategies that help optimize revenue, approval rates, etc.
  • Work closely with the data science team and recommend credit risk decisioning and model deployment strategy.
  • Build a risk scorecard that leverages both internal and external performance data for credit decisioning.
  • Communicate analysis and present findings to articulate the risk strategy for leadership teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in analyzing data and using database query language (e.g., SQL).
  • Proficiency in programming and developer tools such as Python, R, and Databricks in a finance or analytics field.
  • Leadership experience in managing high-performing teams of analysts.
  • Ability to work with non-traditional data sources, such as social media.
  • Prior experience with model-building is a plus but not critical.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proactive communication style with ability to raise flags when needed.

Qualification:

  • Quantitative background in engineering, statistics, math, economics, business, or related disciplines.
