Job Title:

Chief Financial Strategist

This is a senior-level position responsible for leading the organization's financial administration and ensuring sound financial management, compliance, and strategic planning.

The ideal candidate will have over 20 years of experience in budgeting, cost control, financial forecasting, fundraising strategies, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning
    • Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure organizational stability and growth.
    • Develop and implement fundraising and investment strategies to support the organization's mission.
    • Monitor and align financial plans with organizational goals and priorities for effective resource allocation.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control
    • Oversee preparation, monitoring, and management of annual budgets to optimize resource utilization and minimize waste.
    • Implement effective cost control measures to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
    • Ensure financial discipline across all departments and projects to maintain fiscal responsibility.
  • Process Optimization
    • Streamline financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms to enhance transparency and reduce manual intervention.
    • Introduce automation and digital tools to improve financial operations and service delivery.
    • Drive continuous improvements in financial operations and service delivery to maintain excellence.
  • Fund Management & Risk Planning
    • Manage cash flows, investments, and fund utilization to ensure liquidity and financial sustainability.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to protect the organization's assets and reputation.
    • Provide strategies for fund allocation, monitoring, and accountability to ensure transparent and responsible financial management.
  • Reporting & Compliance
    • Oversee timely and accurate preparation of MIS reports, board presentations, and donor reports to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements to maintain the organization's integrity and reputation.
    • Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders for smooth financial governance and conflict resolution.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead, mentor, and build the finance team for high performance and professional growth.
    • Partner with senior leadership, ministry heads, and operational teams for financial decision-making and strategic planning.
    • Provide financial advice and insights for strategic growth and expansion to support the organization's mission and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA), MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in financial management, administration, or controlling roles.
  • Strong track record in budgeting, cost optimization, and financial leadership at a senior level.
