Release Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Release Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the release process, ensuring timely and effective delivery of high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Release Workflow Management: Perform detailed steps to ensure on-time and effective delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain a process for documenting releases, bug-fixes, etc. for mixed audiences (stakeholders technical team).
  • High-Risk Deployments: Communicate and plan for high-risk deployments including ensuring support team is ready to handle any issues.
  • Change Control: Define and manage change control processes for development and release readiness criteria and ensure all changes meet criteria prior to deployment.
  • Process Improvement: Assume ownership and continuous improvement of the release process by documenting release issues and developing plans to improve process or automation.
  • SFDC Updates: Ensure the SFDC scheduled updates are considered when deployment schedule is planned.
  • Release Notes Review: Review SFDC release notes to understand new features and communicate release progress/status to Stakeholders.
  • Environment Management: Refresh planning - manage environment restoration processes to keep all environments healthy, in sync and populated with environment-specific data.
  • Data Loading: Data-loading/seeding of sandbox environments to provide functional environments for development and testing.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in release engineering and management.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
