Cloud Financial Management Leader

Our team is seeking a seasoned Principal Cloud Engineer to lead our cloud financial management initiatives and drive operational excellence on the Azure platform.

This role will shape cloud service strategies, lead research and proof of concepts, and provide opinionated insights to influence offerings and internal best practices. The ideal candidate brings deep Azure expertise, cost optimization skills, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who can manage and optimize Azure subscriptions and resources to ensure cost efficiency and proper utilization. They should have experience with Azure Cost Management, Advisor, Budgets, and be proficient in PowerShell/Python scripting for automation.

The successful candidate will design and implement secure, scalable, efficient, and cost-optimized Azure solutions, balancing trade-offs across requirements, speed, cost, and reliability. They will partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate technical merits, and align solutions with business outcomes and TCO value propositions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and optimizing Azure subscriptions and resources.
  • Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards using Azure Cost Management data and exports.
  • Implementing and managing Azure-native dashboards (Azure Advisor, budgets, cost recommendations).
  • Leading large-scale Azure migration and modernization engagements, managing end-to-end lifecycle and program governance.
  • Defining and implementing cost-management strategies through monitoring, optimization, and automation of Azure services.

Desired skills and qualifications include:

  • A proven track record in Azure FinOps and cost optimization.
  • Strong expertise across Azure services (VMs, Blob Storage, SQL DB, AKS, Functions, Azure OpenAI).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cost Management, Advisor, Budgets.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell/Python scripting for automation.
  • Experience conducting Azure Well-Architected Framework Reviews.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 7+ years in cloud operations with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
