Community Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Community Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing community-based projects that promote social and economic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement project plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Build partnerships with local stakeholders to secure support for project execution.
  • Foster community ownership and involvement in project activities.
  • Monitor progress and ensure quality delivery of project outputs.

Project Execution and Management (70%):

  • Implement projects that promote social and economic development.
  • Track and ensure quality delivery of detailed implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to secure necessary support for project execution.
  • Encourage innovative approaches in project activities.
  • Address operational challenges promptly.

Develop Partnerships and Advocacy (30%):

  • Build relationships with stakeholders at community, ward, and district levels.
  • Increase project visibility among government and other stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to align stakeholder activities with project goals.
  • Represent the project at meetings, committees, and advocacy forums.

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, or related field.
  • 1+ years' experience in program implementation in the social sector.
  • Good understanding of social and environmental concepts and methods.
  • Fluency in English, Tamil, and Hindi languages.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to develop good relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Humility, honesty, transparency, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
