Job Title: Risk Mitigation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to assume the role of Risk Mitigation Specialist.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake thorough assessments of agricultural-related risks, encompassing crops, livestock, machinery, and farm infrastructure, with a view to determining optimal coverage levels and policy terms.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of agricultural risks using historical data, climate forecasts, farm management practices, and geographic factors to inform risk assessment decisions.
  • Develop and recommend targeted risk management strategies to mitigate potential losses, ensuring alignment with market conditions and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuaries, claims adjusters, and field agents to ensure cohesive risk mitigation practices.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques, including GIS and crop yield reports, to evaluate risk exposure and inform underwriting decisions.
  • Clearly communicate risk mitigation strategies and underwriting decisions to clients, agents, and brokers, fostering transparency and understanding.
  • Maintain adherence to regulatory guidelines and company policies through rigorous monitoring and continuous improvement of underwriting practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of agricultural production, climate risks, and farm operations, coupled with a strong understanding of risk assessment principles.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, including risk modelling and GIS systems, with experience in utilizing these platforms for risk evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
