Senior Data Engineer Job DescriptionAbout the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead our migration of on-premise databases to cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing data architectures, as well as integrating business intelligence platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in migrating large-scale databases from on-premise environments to cloud-based platforms such as Google BigQuery. They will also have expertise in ELT patterns, partitioning, clustering, and optimization in BigQuery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data architectures for migrating on-premise databases to cloud-based platforms.
  • Develop ELT patterns using Cloud Data Fusion, SQL, Python, and other GCP-native services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex data challenges and define scalable data models.
  • Lead code reviews and ensure implementation of IAM-based governance, logging, and monitoring.
  • Act as the technical liaison between architects and delivery teams.
  • Mentor engineers and analysts to adopt engineering and LookML best practices.
Requirements
  • 10+ years in Data Engineering, with at least 3+ years on GCP BigQuery.
  • Proven experience migrating large-scale databases from on-premise environments to GBQ.
  • Strong knowledge of ELT patterns, partitioning, clustering, and optimization in GBQ.
  • Advanced SQL, Python, and Cloud Data Fusion experience.
  • Familiarity with LookML and BI integration workflows.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
