We seek an exceptional professional to lead our road safety initiatives in Odisha. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping strategies to reduce traffic fatalities and enhance roadway safety.

About the Role
  1. Strategy Development
    • Develop, implement, and review state road safety policies and action plans.
    • Collaborate with government stakeholders to align state initiatives with national road safety frameworks and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  2. Infrastructure Planning & Design
    • Evaluate design and safety aspects of new and existing road projects.
    • Recommend countermeasures for high-risk areas and conduct road safety audits at various stages.
  3. Data Analysis & Research
    • Analyze crash data, road user patterns, and conduct causal analysis to identify trends and risk factors.
    • Maintain and update a road safety database; prepare periodic performance reports and targets for safety indicators.
  4. Capacity Building & Training
    • Design and deliver capacity building workshops for engineers, enforcement officers, planners, drivers, and community groups.
    • Develop knowledge-sharing resources and toolkits on road safety best practices.
  5. Community Engagement
    • Lead the design and execution of road safety awareness campaigns for the public.
    • Collaborate with local NGOs, schools, and community leaders for safe mobility initiatives.
  6. Enforcement & Monitoring
    • Work with police and traffic enforcement teams to strengthen compliance with road safety laws.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of enforcement and engineering interventions.
  7. Interdepartmental Coordination
    • Facilitate meetings among diverse government agencies for integrated safety improvements.
    • Represent the state at national road safety forums and stakeholder consultations.
  8. Technology & Innovation
    • Advocate for the adoption of intelligent traffic management systems and emerging safety technologies.
    • Advise state authorities on procurement and deployment of digital enforcement and monitoring tools.
