Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Manager to oversee our engineering department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective completion of tasks.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain quality systems related documents, including SOPs, formats, and calibration schedules, to ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Conduct thorough cost estimations and track project budgets to guarantee successful project execution.

  • Prepare detailed P&ID's, instrument indexes, instrument lists, BOMs, data sheets, cable schedules, logic write-ups, interlock alarm systems, and look-up drawings to support project delivery.

  • Evaluate vendors, inspect materials, and approve quality to ensure that only the highest standard products are used in our projects.

  • Execute instrumentation work and commission instrumentation systems to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

  • Develop and review project documentation to guarantee accuracy and completeness.

  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance plans for instruments to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

  • Support and attend major breakdowns and provide technical expertise for routine maintenance to ensure business continuity.

  • Identify areas for improvement and suggest actions to eliminate repetitive failures, reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

  • Utilize available instruments and systems to their fullest potential, manage spares effectively, and maintain statutory requirements of the plant.

  • Ensure the effective performance of testing and measuring instruments to guarantee accurate results.

  • Participate in management drives and encourage team members to contribute to successful implementation at the shop floor.

  • Foster a culture of excellence by utilizing each team member to their fullest potential and inspiring them to achieve goals.

  • Conduct JSA and technical training for technicians to upgrade their technical grades and enhance skills.

  • Monitor the performance of engineers to ensure they meet expectations and contribute to the success of the team.

  • Participate in Hazop studies and implementation to identify potential risks and mitigate them.

  • In the absence of the Head of Engineering, take charge of all activities to ensure continuity and maintain high standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in overseeing engineering departments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.

  • Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.

  • Experience with budgeting and financial management.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
