Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in a challenging role that involves designing innovative cooling solutions for hyperscale data centers.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in hyperscale data center design and will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of cooling design throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through to installation, testing, and commissioning.

Cooling System Design Expertise
  • Design and optimize cooling infrastructure for data centers to maintain desired temperature and humidity levels, ensuring efficient performance, system reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Select and specify cooling equipment, components, and materials, considering energy efficiency, scalability, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives to integrate renewable energy solutions, waste heat recovery, or free cooling systems (e.g., using ambient air) into the data center cooling design.
  • Analyse and optimize airflow, chiller plant designs, and cooling tower systems to ensure that cooling systems are as energy efficient as possible.
  • Perform detailed thermal load analysis to assess heat generation and distribution within the data center, recommending cooling strategies that meet capacity and redundancy requirements.
Project Management and Oversight
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality standards are met and maintained throughout the design and implementation phases.
  • Coordinate with Project Management Team & vendors for QA / QC requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Building Services, Energy Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and engineering of cooling systems for large-scale, hyperscale data centers or mission-critical facilities.
