Storage System Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in storage system design and firmware development, with a strong focus on NAND Flash technologies (SLC, TLC, QLC).

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and customizing controller firmware for enterprise-class storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Firmware Development: Design and develop controller firmware for storage solutions.
  • NAND Flash Expertise: Work on firmware development with a strong focus on NAND Flash technologies (SLC, TLC, QLC).
  • Modeling Efforts: Contribute to modeling efforts for storage products from concept through production.
  • Device Characterization: Support device characterization, benchmarking, and performance optimization.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with architecture, hardware, validation, and software teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Debugging: Debug and troubleshoot complex firmware issues across multiple layers.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in the storage domain (SSD/HDD).
  • Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in C/C++ and assembly programming.
  • Storage Interfaces: Hands-on experience with storage interfaces: PCIe/NVMe, AHCI, SATA, SAS, UFS, eMMC.
  • Firmware Design: Proven experience with firmware design, customization, and support.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and abstract thinking ability with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Agile/Scrum: Prior exposure to device drivers is desirable, as well as experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
