Dean of Academics Job Description
">The Dean of Academics is a senior leadership role that requires strategic vision, academic expertise, and effective management skills. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of academic programs, policies, and initiatives that align with the university's mission and goals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for all academic programs, including curriculum planning, policy development, and quality assurance.
- Oversee the work of department heads, faculty members, and academic staff to ensure efficient operations and achieve academic excellence.
- Supervise the recruitment, mentoring, and performance evaluation of faculty members and academic staff.
- Promote innovation, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty members and students.
- Collaborate with other university leaders on strategic planning, institutional development, and accreditation processes.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence, inclusivity, and respect within the academic community.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of academic leadership experience as Dean, Associate Dean, HoD, etc.
- Strong background in curriculum design, academic planning, and accreditation processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage diverse academic teams and drive institutional growth.
- Familiarity with UGC and other regulatory frameworks.
