Job Description

This role involves working on Civil Structural Projects, requiring the ability to perform drafting and clash checks. The candidate will work with conventional engineering practices and complex situations, utilizing innovative solutions.

The job entails creating construction deliverables like Foundation plans, elevations, sections, and detail drawings using tools such as AutoCAD (MicroStation is an added advantage). Responsibilities include:

  • Designing foundations and steel general arrangement drawings.
  • Creating steel plans, elevations, sections, and detail drawings.
  • Laying out locations and key plans.
  • Generating Bill of Quantities (BOQ) / Material Take-offs (MTOs).
  • Creating stairs, ladders, and miscellaneous items (added advantage).
  • Collaborating with other disciplines to develop a clash-free 3D model/drawing (added advantage).
  • Managing assigned scope within agreed schedules and budgets, while adhering to project quality norms.
  • Assisting engineers in preparing, coordinating, and reviewing deliverables for the discipline.
  • Maintaining a strong team player mentality, able to work independently.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience or ITI with 6 years of experience.
  • Experience in industrial/commercial design drafting, development of general arrangement drawings, foundation and steel layouts, Foundation detail drawings, steel connection drawings, and modeling of steel and foundations.
  • Diagrammatic skills and 3D conceptual skills.
  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards (AISC, ACI, PIP etc.) used in Manufacturing, Industrial, and Commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in 2D tools like AutoCAD-2D and Microstation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Tools MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
