Job Overview

This role is a strategic leadership position that oversees the Record to Report Indirect Tax team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead indirect tax accruals and returns preparation
  • Respond to internal and external queries from various stakeholders, including tax authorities, vendors, customers, AR team, and AP team
  • Prepare required adjustments on tax accruals and returns
  • Analyze resale and exemption certificates for accuracy, credibility, applicability, and completeness, and update customer accounts or orders accordingly
  • Process tax exemption requests within a specified timeframe
  • Educate internal departments on the proper documentation required to meet tax-exempt status requirements
  • Audit tax credits for sales taxes with precision and accuracy
  • Maintain effective communication with all customers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree + CA Inter/BCom+ICWA Inter/MCom/MBA Finance+BCom/Qualified CA/CMA
  • Substantial experience in indirect tax accounting, preferably with relevant general accounting experience for qualified CA/CMA) indirect tax, sales, and use tax, property tax, VAT accounting, book closing, reporting, and reconciliation primarily for the US region
  • Excellent written and verbal/oral communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially in MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and analytical reasoning ability
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and balance multiple requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving and research skills
  • Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented individual
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic business environment
  • Understanding of accounting, AR/Credit, or customer service procedures
