  • The primary objective of this role is to drive the adoption of Rust programming language across Canonical offerings, focusing on Ubuntu and other open-source projects. This involves identifying opportunities for Rust implementation and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement high-quality software solutions.
  • Advocate for Rust adoption within the organization and upstream projects, contributing to the development of technical specifications and architectural designs.
  • Design and implement well-tested and well-documented software in Rust, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with community members and colleagues to develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that it is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to a wide range of stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Rust programming language, including experience designing and writing high-quality software.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating system, including knowledge of system-level services and capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
