We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, reporting, and dashboarding disciplines.

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and building solutions that meet business needs, as well as ensuring data is accessible and structured to facilitate reporting requirements.
  • Key responsibilities include extracting data from bespoke applications and third-party products, consolidating multiple data sources into a data warehouse or data lake, and setting up dashboards and reports in data visualization and reporting tools.
  • A strong understanding of business needs, combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand business needs and design/build solutions to meet those needs
  • Capable of architecture/design/implementing warehouse and reporting solutions
  • Extract data from bespoke apps/third-party products
  • Consolidate multiple data sources into data warehouse/data lake
  • Ensure data is accessible/structured for reporting needs
  • Set up dashboards/reports in data viz/reporting tools
  • Build resilient/reliable/secure/cost-effective solutions
  • Proactively monitor/alert issues
  • Implement best practices
  • Collaborate as part of agile team to design/develop/maintain software
  • Collaborate with product management to prioritize/planning technical debt remediation/refactoring data structures/stored procedures
  • Design/Implement repeatable data pull requests/executing ad-hoc requests as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/related field/work experience
  • 10+ years of strong experience with SQL Servers/relational databases
  • Strong experience querying/optimizing complex data sets
  • Strong experience creating/optimizing complex stored procedures/functions/triggers
  • Strong experience working with legacy code/systems
  • Strong experience in data engineering related roles
  • End-to-end knowledge product databases/information visualization
  • Experience Azure cloud technologies including ADF/Functions/DLS/Synapse etc.
  • Experience relational database design/architecture
  • Expert data visualization/reporting SSRS/Power BI
  • Experience SSIS/ADF/ETL tools
  • Experience data warehouse/modelling single-layer Data warehouse/Kimball
  • Experience .NET/Azure/agile environment beneficial
  • Teamwork/collaboration willing to share thoughts/seek ideas/feedback others
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Comfortable working staff all levels
  • Ability self-organize/prioritize/task track
  • Can work independently/team
