Job Description:

The Agile Product Management Advisor plays a pivotal role in driving the success of our organization by overseeing the development and delivery of complex products. This individual must possess a unique blend of technical and business acumen, with a strong understanding of agile methodologies and product development lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a proactive champion of the business case, taking an active role in understanding the desired future state and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead continuous learning initiatives, adopting a probe and learn approach to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Leverage knowledge of the product's value stream and system interactions to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Break down complex problems into actionable requirements, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
  • Communicate stakeholder goals and expected outcomes effectively, incorporating architectural changes recommended by engineering teams.
  • Facilitate product backlog grooming sessions, ensuring that the highest-impact work is delivered soonest.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of product technical roadmaps and advocate for prioritization of non-functional work when necessary.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with business, technology partners, and stakeholders to foster a culture of collaboration and shared understanding.
  • Lead sprint planning, story refinement, feature elaboration sessions with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Participate in team standups, retrospectives, and facilitate dialogue with stakeholders during sprint reviews and product demos.
  • Monitor and communicate technical product health metrics and KPIs, advocating for product improvements with business and technology partners.
  • Manage allocation of team capacity to ensure optimal levels are utilized for product health improvements and reduction of technical debt.
  • Implement strategies to optimize team performance and achieve overall department objectives.

Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of experience in software development or maintenance.
  • College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
  • Agile experience required, preferably SAFe certified.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate difficult discussions using data as evidence for best next steps and resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Product Management experience driving complex business products.
  • Certification in Product Management preferred; not mandatory.
