Job Description

This role involves managing environmental aspects of a steel plant.

  • Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with regulatory bodies, legal authorities, and consultants to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Environment Management: Oversee water and waste water management, air pollution control, solid waste management, and hazardous waste management.
  • Compliance Management: Manage environment-related compliances under various acts and regulations, including coordination with consultant, equipment suppliers, and training providers.
  • Ca Regulations Management: Ensure environment compliance under Air Act, Water Act, Environment Protection Act, and other related regulations.
  • Legislative Requirements: Prepare and submit all legal requirements for Ministry of Environment and Forest, Central Pollution Control Board, and Gujarat Pollution Control Board.
  • Effluent Treatment: Ensure effective operation of ETP/STP to meet consent criteria for effluent discharge and proper disposal of treated effluent.
  • Solid/Hazardous Waste Management: Monitor solid/hazardous waste generation pattern, ensure proper segregation/storage, and dispose/recycle at premises. Impart training/awareness to involved employees.
  • Monthly/Yearly Returns: Meet legal requirement for monthly/yearly returns related to the environment management system.
  • Legal Register: Monitor/maintain/update legal register and periodical review with team for ensuring timely compliances of all applicable rules/regulations.
  • Environment Clearance: Obtain necessary consents like CCA&CTE/NOC from GPCB/licenses/permissions pertaining to EHS-related legislations from regulatory authorities including documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliances.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software applications.
  • High degree of organization and time management skills.
