Job Description:

The Mechanical Design Engineer plays a pivotal role in the execution of mechanical works at solar project sites, ensuring that all activities align with approved engineering designs and industry standards. This position requires strong knowledge of module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, and steel structures used in solar projects.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting mechanical design drawings, preparing site-specific mechanical drawings when required, conducting wind load and structural stability checks, verifying MMS foundation positions, and providing design clarifications/modifications at site. The engineer must also coordinate with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues and support site teams in resolving mechanical erection bottlenecks.

  • Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, approvals, and as-built records
  • Coordinate with site teams to ensure smooth execution of mechanical works
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to mechanical design challenges
Required Skills and Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory, and 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design and site execution, preferably in solar/renewable/industrial projects, is highly desirable. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/drafting tools is essential, as well as a strong understanding of IS/IEC codes, wind load standards, welding/fabrication practices, and quality inspection of welding, bolting, and module installation.
