We are seeking a talented Junior Design Engineer with expertise in sheet metal fabrication to join our design and development team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3D modeling, with the ability to translate concepts into accurate development and assembly drawings for stainless steel kitchen and refrigeration equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detailed Drawings: Prepare precise 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in SolidWorks for sheet metal components and assemblies.
  • Fabrication Drawings: Develop detailed fabrication drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and technical documentation for production.
  • Design Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
  • Product Development: Assist in the development of new products and customization of existing designs as per client requirements.
  • Sheet Metal Development: Perform sheet metal development including flat patterns, bending allowances, tolerances, and welding considerations.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all drawings and designs adhere to quality standards, safety norms, and international specifications.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, purchase, service) for design feasibility and project execution.
  • Design Support: Support in design modifications, revisions, and documentation control.
  • Prototype Validation: Conduct basic design validations through prototyping, fitment trials, and feedback from the shop floor.
  • Documentation: Maintain proper documentation of design files, revisions, and records for future reference.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, finishing).
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, rendering).
  • Development Drawings: Ability to prepare development drawings, exploded views, and assembly drawings.
  • Tolerances and Specifications: Understanding of tolerances, GD&T, welding symbols, and material specifications (SS 304/316 etc.).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Good visualization and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and technical documentation.
  • Teamwork: Team player with effective communication skills.
