Physical Education Leadership Position

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Physical Education Director to spearhead our sports programs at a premier university. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical education, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching:
    • Develop and deliver curriculum for physical fitness, competitive training, and coaching.
    • Conduct on-ground classes and workshops.
  • Administration:
    • Oversee budgeting and procurement of sports equipment.
    • Coordinate with sports committees and external agencies.
  • Institutional Support:
    • Maintain sports facilities and report to the registrar.
    • Organize state/national inter-university tournaments.
  • Personal Development:
    • Foster growth and development aligned with NAAC/UGC perspectives.
  • People Management:
    • Hire, train, and retain high-performing team members.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Coach, guide, train, and supervise students in various capacities.
  • Conduct inter-class matches, inter-collegiate tournaments, and assist in inter-varsity programs.
  • Purchase, maintain, and utilize standard equipment and sports goods.
  • Prepare plans for development and promotion of sports and physical education.
  • Select and train teams for different games and tournaments.
  • Coordinate and implement programs devised by the Physical Culture Committee (Sports).
  • Office management, budgeting, and formation of various clubs/committees.
  • Maintenance of files and organization of coaching camps, tournaments, and national days celebrations.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a private university and in a leadership role.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration for student well-being.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good networking skills with external sports clubs.
