We seek a senior accountant with expertise in financial reporting, general ledger maintenance and compliance to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting accurate financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, managing financial statements, reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Collect, analyze and summarize account information and trends to prepare comprehensive financial reports.
  • Prepare and record entries for assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Summarize the current financial status by preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other relevant financial reports.
  • Analyze financial information to identify errors and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Accounting and Auditing
  • Maintain the general ledger by transferring group accounts, preparing trial balances and reconciling entries to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.
  • Assist with annual audit preparations and complete external audits as required.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and record fixed assets accurately and in accordance with company policies.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with income tax, GST and other relevant legal requirements by analyzing and interpreting regulatory changes.
  • Calculate and submit tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Plan, assign and review the work of accounting assistants and bookkeepers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage and mentor the team to improve productivity and job satisfaction.
  • Protect the organization's interests by keeping sensitive information confidential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Commerce degree is essential.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, general ledger maintenance and compliance is highly desirable.
