Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core components of our cloud-based developer platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, as well as experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Build self-service capabilities for developers to provision infrastructure and deploy applications.
  • Implement and maintain IaC using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Develop golden paths for common development tasks to ensure consistency and best practices.
  • Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools into the platform.
  • Developer Enablement:
  • Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and pain points.
  • Provide training and support to developers on how to use the platform effectively.
  • Gather feedback from developers and iterate on the platform based on their needs.
  • Document platform features and best practices.
  • Champion a developer-centric approach to platform development.
  • Automation and Efficiency:
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and other repetitive tasks.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the development workflow.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure platform health and performance.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure platform security and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Implement security best practices throughout the platform.
  • Work with security teams to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience building and maintaining internal developer platforms.
  • Experience with API design and development.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Experience with security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
