We are seeking a talented Sr/Lead QA Automation Engineer to deliver roadmap features of the Enterprise TruRisk Platform, enabling customers to measure, communicate, and eliminate cyber risks.

The Sr/Lead QA Automation Engineer will design, implement, document, and maintain testing frameworks for core product capabilities using micro-services and Big Data based components.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be an integral part of a team building Qualys' next-generation platform, leveraging Big Data & Micro-Services based technology to process over billions of transactions per day, utilizing open-source technologies, and working on challenging and business-impacting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead automation efforts to achieve maximum automation coverage
  • Develop automation framework using Java (Selenium) and automate big data workflows such as ingestion, aggregation, ETL processing
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues within the big data ecosystem
  • Set up the Big data platform and Hadoop ecosystem for testing
  • Define test strategy and write test plan for data platform enhancements and new features/services built on it
  • Define operating procedures, service monitors, and alerts, and work with the NOC team to get them implemented
  • Responsible for system & performance testing of the data platform and applications
  • Solve problems, establish plans, and provide technical consultation in the design, development, and test effort of complex engineering projects
  • Review product specifications and write test cases, develop test plans for assigned areas
  • Identify issues and technical interdependencies and suggest possible solutions
  • Test big data ingestion and aggregation flows using spark shell and related queries
  • Perform end-to-end workflow automation using a framework
  • Contribute to Test Automation Development/Enhancement
  • Recreate complex customer and production reported issues to determine root cause and verify the fix
  • Maintain an automation-first attitude to help reduce regression manual regression cycles
  • Lead a team of automation engineers to guide the team and achieve end-to-end API, UI, and backend automation
  • Prioritize manual efforts and have the capability to automate them

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in full-time testing role and at least 4-6 years in hands-on automation role as lead
  • Hands-on experience with Java and Selenium
  • Experience with building and designing automation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience in automating backend applications (e.g., database, REST APIs)
  • Experience integrating CI-CD pipelines for automation frameworks for ease of use
  • Hands-on experience with automating any backend applications (e.g., database, server-side)
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Good debugging skills
  • Working experience in Linux/Unix environment
  • Good to have experience working with K8s
  • Good understanding of testing methodologies
  • Good to have hands-on experience working on Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elastic
  • Experience in Security domain is an advantage
