Key Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Credit Risk Associate to join our team in the Commercial Banking Middle market. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in managing risk and providing expert analysis to support business growth.

  • Client Portfolio Management: You will be responsible for preparing credit analysis on assigned clients, covering macro-overview, industry/sector, business, financials, projections modelling and recommending changes to credit ratings and amendments to facilities.
  • Negotiating Credit Terms: You will assist in negotiating credit terms along with senior credit officers and take the lead in finalizing documentation (credit agreements and amendments).
  • Due Diligence: You will support due diligence on capital market transactions for clients.
  • Client Onboarding: You will work closely with approvers/senior credit officers in North America on new-to-bank client activities such as evaluating prospects, onboarding new clients and new facilities, actively providing recommendations on deal structuring.
  • Relationship Building: You will build strong relationships and maintain open communication with colleagues from various lines of business including credit officers, bankers, middle office, etc.
  • Junior Team Support: You will engage junior team members in deals for support and review their work.
  • Industry Knowledge: You will develop a strong working knowledge and track clients/sectors related to diversified industries on an ongoing basis.
  • Governance and Reporting: You will ensure governance, reporting, and data quality requirements are met and maintained for client and client families.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Postgraduate Degree: A postgraduate degree is required for this role.
  • Minimum 5 Years Experience: You must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk analysis with 2 years of experience in managing clients.
  • Strong Communication Skills: You should have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial Analysis: You should have an in-depth understanding of financial statements, including ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and accounting standards.
  • Corporate Finance: You should have excellent academic records, a strong grasp of corporate finance concepts and application, close attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Continuous Learning: You should have the aptitude to learn and develop knowledge on credit analysis techniques, sectors, and global economies.
  • Technical Skills: You should be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
