We are seeking a skilled Automation Tester to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automation frameworks, testing tools, and a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for various applications. This includes executing regression, functional, integration, and performance tests. They will also identify, log, and track defects; work closely with developers to resolve issues.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a quality-focused mindset. They will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of an Agile team. Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications.
- Execute regression, functional, integration, and performance tests.
- Identify, log, and track defects; work closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with QA, development, and business teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Enhance and optimize automation frameworks for scalability and reusability.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives in Agile/Scrum environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of programming/scripting languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience in API testing (Postman, RestAssured, Karate, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Understanding of databases (SQL, Oracle, MySQL).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative Agile team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in test automation.
- ISTQB or relevant QA certifications (preferred).
