Job Title

A hedge fund analyst is a key professional in the financial sector, responsible for analyzing and managing investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly net asset value (NAV) calculations for hedge fund portfolios to ensure accurate reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Perform profit and loss (P&L) reconciliation between fund administrator reports, internal records, and prime broker statements to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
  • Carry out cash reconciliation across custodians, banks, and internal systems to verify the accuracy of cash positions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in positions, pricing, fees, and expenses to maintain the integrity of the portfolio.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals, to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Assist in performance reporting and investor statements to provide stakeholders with transparent and reliable information.
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure accurate trade settlement and reporting.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and risk teams to validate portfolio data and performance metrics, ensuring that they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in hedge fund operations.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with a strong foundation in financial analysis and management.
  • 2-5 years of experience in fund accounting or hedge fund operations, preferably with exposure to NAV calculation and reconciliation processes.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, including equities, derivatives, fixed income, foreign exchange, and other securities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with fund accounting software, such as Advent Portfolio Manager or BlackRock Aladdin.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
