Design Engineer Job Description

This role focuses on delivering high-quality designs that meet customer requirements and manufacturing needs. Key responsibilities include:

  2. Conducting DFM analysis for PCBA and PCB to ensure manufacturability and quality.">
  3. Analyzing testability and generating DFT reports to identify potential issues.">
  4. Simulating mechanical assembly processes and creating DFA reports to optimize design for assembly.">
  5. Crafting DFx procedures and checklists according to customer specifications.">
  6. Gathering and presenting findings through comprehensive DFx reports.">
  7. Collaborating with internal teams and customers to define DFx requirements and rules.">
  8. Ensuring adherence to performance targets for all process metrics.">
  9. Mentoring junior team members and guiding them toward effective deliverables.">
  10. Training staff on software and tools, as well as performing root cause analysis to resolve service issues efficiently.">
  11. Generating KPI reports for weekly and monthly operations reviews.">
  12. Possessing expertise in PCBA processes, including stencil printing, solder paste, SMT, wave-soldering, assembly, and box build.">
  13. Aware of IPC standards and having knowledge in PCB fabrication processes, layers, design, and component packages at various levels.">
  14. Ability to create DFx procedures and checklists, as well as understanding PCBA test development processes like ICT, FCT, and Flying Probe Test.">
  15. Familiarity with DFx tools and hands-on experience in DFM module software such as Vayopro, Valor NPI, Solidworks, etc.">
  16. Knowledge in 3D product designs and simulation of product assembly processes.">
  17. Capable of working within a multi-functional team to define requirements and suitable metrics for new products and processes.">
  18. Understanding of NPI operations, manufacturing engineering, and ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.">
  19. Flexible and adaptable to work in a dynamic environment, willing to learn and grow.">
  20. Possessing coaching and mentoring skills, conflict resolution abilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills.">

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-7 years' experience in DFx methodologies, PCBA DFM process, DFT, and DFA analysis.">
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.">
  • Excellent analytical skills, proficiency in MS Office and Outlook, and strong reporting and decision-making skills.">
