Firmware Engineer Position

This role involves designing, developing, testing, and debugging firmware for embedded systems. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Designing, developing, and testing firmware for microcontrollers.
  2. Working on bootloader development or implementing security features as required.
  3. Interfacing with hardware using communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.
  4. Contributing to board bring-up, peripheral drivers, and real-time operating system-based application development.
  5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including hardware, quality assurance, and systems teams.
  6. Analyzing and optimizing performance, memory, and power usage on microcontroller platforms.
  7. Troubleshooting system-level issues using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.

The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in C and a deep understanding of data structures.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in C.
  • Hands-on experience in low-level firmware or bare-metal development.
  • Experience with embedded communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
  • Good experience or exposure to real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS, QNX, VxWorks, or pSoS.
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architecture, preferably ARM Cortex-M/R/A.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in bootloader development or embedded security (e.g., secure boot, encryption).
  • Familiarity with device tree configuration.
  • Knowledge of software validation, testing, and debugging in embedded environments.
