Job Title: Dam Break Analysis Specialist

The position requires an expert in dam safety and emergency planning. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering with postgraduate experience in hydraulic or hydrology, coupled with at least 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling using advanced tools such as MIKE, HEC_HMS, or others.

The successful candidate will have expertise in:

  • Preparing Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and conducting dam break analysis for large dam projects
  • Flood routing, operational protocols of dams, and state-of-the-art mathematical models

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the preparation and finalization of Tier-I documents following international best practices
  2. Provide technical support for the development and finalization of EAPs
  3. Design and deliver customized training courses on dam break analysis, inundation mapping, and EAP preparation
  4. Conduct capacity building programs for DRIP Implementing Agencies
  5. Perform integrated flood routing studies for cascades of reservoirs
  6. Undertake need-based flood routing studies to determine routed floods for specific reservoirs
  7. Develop and implement training calendars and schedules aligned with the annual DRIP Calendar
  8. Support the development of in-house expertise at select academic institutions
  9. Participate in national and international conferences via technical paper submissions and presentations
