
Demurrage and Post-Fixture Claims Specialist

The position of Demurrage & Post-Fixture Claims Handler involves managing and resolving claims related to demurrage and post-fixture issues. This role requires effective communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze complex contract clauses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing claims from initiation to resolution
- Liaising with clients, vessels, and agents to gather necessary information
- Ensuring accurate interpretation of contract clauses and evaluating claims based on same
- Providing analytical insights on claims and advising on optimal resolutions
- Negotiating with counterparties to achieve the best possible outcome
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be working closely with various stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claim submissions. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be essential in resolving disputes efficiently.
Requirements:
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (sailing background an asset)
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in handling claims, preferably in product tankers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement
