Cloud DevOps Engineer

The primary role of a Cloud DevOps Engineer is to orchestrate the development, testing, deployment and maintenance of applications. This involves planning, implementation and integration of various systems.

This includes evaluating current infrastructure for scalability, implementing improvements where needed, ensuring smooth transitions between environments and facilitating continuous delivery and deployment.

  • Expertise in containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is required for effective orchestration of containerized workloads.
  • Proficiency in automation scripting languages like Groovy is also essential for automating build and deployment processes using Jenkins.

A strong understanding of cloud services, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS and Azure, is necessary for designing scalable and efficient architectures.

  • Key areas include compute services, storage solutions, networking, database management and security controls.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics and Grafana is crucial for tracking application performance and debugging issues.

This position demands collaboration with cross-functional teams, excellent communication skills, and an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

It requires a solid understanding of industry best practices, IT governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards.

With over 8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Jenkins, Groovy and GCP, this candidate must possess extensive knowledge of docker, kubernetes, helm charts, terraform tooling, and cloud certification.

Additionally, hands-on experience with automation of build, deployments, code scanning tools such as Sonar, Checkmarx, container scan, automation of tooling integration using web services via pipelines is highly valued.

A solid grasp on banking domain IT controls and processes is also beneficial in this role.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical for troubleshooting complex technical issues and delivering timely results.
