Cloud-Native DevOps Architect


Job Description:

As a Cloud-Native DevOps Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native infrastructure on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This role requires expertise in AKS architecture, automation, and strategic direction on cloud-native best practices.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Define end-to-end architecture for AKS-based workloads in Azure.
  • Design multi-environment, multi-region AKS architectures for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Establish best practices for container orchestration, scaling, and governance in AKS.
  • Advise on cost optimization strategies for AKS and related Azure resources.

Azure & AKS Expertise:
  • Architect and provision AKS clusters with features like cluster and node pool autoscaling, private cluster configuration, network isolation using Azure CNI / Kubenet, managed identities, and Azure AD integration.
  • Integrate AKS with supporting Azure services, including Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus & Grafana, Azure Container Registry (ACR), and Azure Key Vault.

DevOps & Automation:
  • Design Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for AKS provisioning.
  • Implement GitOps workflows for automated deployments.
  • Define CI/CD architecture using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins for AKS workloads.

Security & Compliance:
  • Architect RBAC and Azure AD security models for AKS access.
  • Integrate security scanning for container images and Kubernetes workloads.
  • Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks and governance policies.

Monitoring, Logging, & Observability:
  • Architect observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus, Container Insights, and Grafana.
  • Establish automated alerting, anomaly detection, and incident response playbooks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Architecture, or related roles. 5+ years of hands-on Azure experience, with deep AKS expertise. Strong technical expertise in Kubernetes architecture & troubleshooting, Azure networking, IaC tools, container security and governance.


Preferred Qualifications:

Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Experience with service mesh architectures, multi-cluster management tools, and workload migration to AKS.


Soft Skills:

Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and business audiences. Ability to lead design workshops and architecture reviews. Strategic problem-solver with hands-on implementation skills.


Location:

Chennai. Limited travel required for project delivery.
