Financial Research Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Financial Models: Develop and update comprehensive financial models with thorough scenario analysis.
  • Valuation Methods: Conduct DCF, relative, SOTP, and other relevant valuation methods.
  • Accurate Assumptions and Valuation: Create accurate assumptions and valuation with clear rationale.
  • Investment Ideas: Screen large datasets to identify investment ideas and assist Portfolio Managers/Chief Investment Officers in their investment decisions.
  • Discussion and Updates: Discuss investment ideas and stock updates with Portfolio Managers/Chief Investment Officers.
  • Earnings Reviews: Prepare earnings reviews, previews, attend conference calls, and management meetings.
  • Pitch Notes and Presentations: Prepare pitch notes/presentations, industry, and thematic notes.
  • Databases: Create and update databases.
  • News Analysis: Collect and analyze news.
  • Ad Hoc Research Requests: Handle ad hoc research requests.

Maintain constant communication with clients and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Financial Modeling and Research Report-Writing/Presentation Making Skills: Excellent skills required.
  • Thinking through Drivers and KPIs: Ability to think through drivers and KPIs across broad ranges of sectors.
  • Client Relationship Management and Communication Skills: Good skills required.
  • Attention to Detail and Multi-Tasking: An eye for detail and ability to handle multiple workflows with tight deadlines.
  • Numerical Abilities: Numerical abilities required.
  • Building Complex Models: Building complex, error-free models with well-defined revenue/cost driver assumptions.
  • Earnings Sensitivity Analysis: Carrying out earnings sensitivity analysis.
  • Providing Valuation Views: Providing own valuation views after carrying out relative, DCF-based, or industry-appropriate valuations.
  • Writing Skills: Writing skills required.
  • Logical and Structured Writing: Writing in a logical and structured manner that requires minimal rework.
  • Bulletins and Summaries: Writing bulletins and one-page summaries.
  • Linking Macro/Industry Analysis: Linking macro/industry analysis to the output.
  • Building Effective Presentations: Building effective presentations.
  • Others: Collecting news, summarizing, and providing analysis that adds value; preparing charts, tables, and databases.

Advantageous if experienced in using technologies: Python, SQL, Power BI, etc.
