Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team as a Platform Engineer. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining custom kernel and kernel modules.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux device driver development, thorough knowledge of Linux kernel internals, and proficient coding skills in C or C++.

The successful engineer will work on automating build and test environments, improving software stacks, tooling, and processes.

In addition, the engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting incidents across infrastructure, network, storage levels of the stack, documenting findings, and procedures for repetitive tasks, and using them for automation.

This includes evaluating new hardware servers, NICs, adding support for new hardware, NICs, Storage controllers, JBODs, developing custom command shells, and creating custom ISO installers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom kernel and kernel modules
  • Automate build and test environments
  • Improve software stacks, tooling, and processes
  • Troubleshoot incidents across infrastructure, network, storage levels of the stack
  • Document findings and procedures for repetitive tasks
  • Evaluate new hardware servers, NICs, and add support for new hardware
  • Develop custom command shells and create custom ISO installers

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of Linux device driver development experience
  • Thorough understanding of Linux kernel internals
  • Proficient coding skills in C or C++
  • Hands-on coding skills in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl
  • Experience with various build environments and version control systems

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of packet data-path acceleration frameworks
  • Golang, Rust, PCI device drivers, Docker, Kubernetes, cgroups, namespaces, and Linux kernel commitment

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering is required along with 1-3 years of experience in site reliability, platform engineering, or DevSecOps.
