Same Day Surgery Coding Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Same Day Surgery Coder.

This position involves reviewing and analyzing medical records, operative reports, and other documentation to ensure accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures, with experience in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for assigning appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for same day surgeries in accordance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze medical records, operative reports, and other documentation to ensure accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses.
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for same day surgeries in accordance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation when necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in health information management or a related field.
  • Certification as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or similar credential is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in medical coding, with specific experience in same day surgery coding preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
  • Proficient in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
