Job Description

This is an opportunity to shape the backend of a live, regulated financial platform being built across the Middle East.

The client's codebase is live, but some areas need cleaning up and extending fast. You will work on financial workflows like KYC, servicing, and withdrawals building the APIs and systems that handle real money, with reliability and auditability built in.

Key Responsibilities
  • Backend Services Development: Building and extending backend services using TypeScript/Node.js.
  • Transactional Business Logic: Writing transactional business logic for financial flows (e.g. onboarding, withdrawals).
  • Database Management: Designing and maintaining PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and queries.
  • API Integration: Integrating with third-party APIs securely (OAuth2, JWT).
  • System Improvement: Improving existing systems for performance, reliability, and audit requirements.
  • Collaboration Tools: Collaborating via GitHub and CI/CD workflows.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in financial services.
  • Technical Skills: Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, productive from day one.
  • Cloud Computing: Hands-on with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns.
  • Database Administration: PostgreSQL experience, schema design, performance tuning, real-world queries.
  • Security: Solid understanding of building secure, documented REST APIs.
  • Communication: Able to work independently and communicate clearly.
