Data Engineer Job Description

As a skilled Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building scalable data models and impactful dashboards for enterprise clients. Your primary responsibility will be to lead architecture, setup, and delivery of analytics projects.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing and a solid understanding of data structures and reporting needs. Proficiency in building visualizations, reports, and dashboards is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of data pipelines between systems.
  • Develop custom calculations, time series functions, and metrics tailored to business KPIs.
  • Extend and maintain the semantic model to support complex reporting needs.
  • Build data models, transformation logic, KPIs, and dashboards for finance and operational reporting.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and performance bottlenecks across data layers.
  • Define best practices for solution design, governance, and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data analytics, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing.
  • Strong implementation experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) and Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW).
  • Oracle certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
