Test Engineer PositionAs a detail-oriented Test Engineer with expertise in API testing, you will validate backend services and automate API tests to ensure application quality.This role involves key responsibilities:
  • Manual API testing using Postman for functionality, reliability, and performance validation.
  • Automated API testing using RestAssured or Playwright for faster regression and continuous validation.
  • Designing and documenting test cases, scenarios, and data based on business requirements.
  • Log and track bugs using JIRA or Azure DevOps and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
  • Building and managing test automation pipelines using Jenkins integrated within CI/CD workflows.
  • Utilizing Visual Studio or VS Code as primary IDEs to develop and maintain automation scripts.
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Ensuring complete test coverage and conducting smoke, sanity, regression, and integration testing.
  • Providing detailed test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Required skills and qualifications:
  • API testing proficiency, both manual (Postman) and automated (RestAssured, Playwright).
  • Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, and other test management tools.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON/XML formats.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in rotational shifts and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in end-to-end automation framework development for APIs.
  • Exposure to web UI automation tools or frameworks.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries for backend validation.
  • Experience working on real-time applications in domains like e-commerce or finance.
