The RoleYou will lead cross-functional teams to ensure efficient publishing operations for a prestigious journal. This involves managing Peer Review Editors, Content Writers, and Video Production staff to streamline the manuscript workflow from peer review to publication.
- Oversee the complete manuscript workflow, ensuring timeliness, quality, and adherence to journal standards.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI to optimize workflows and enhance productivity.
- Define team KPIs and departmental goals; monitor performance and ensure accountability.
- Ensure scientific rigor and editorial excellence are maintained across all published content.
- A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences is required.
- At least 10 years of experience in academic, scientific publishing, or edtech content production, specializing in managing publication workflows.
- Seven years of proven management experience.
- Strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.
- Experience with digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
- Demonstrated experience integrating technology and digital tools to improve publishing workflows, quality, and efficiency.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong communication skills.
- Results-driven mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
