Job Title: Project Manager- Financial Services

As a senior project manager, you will oversee the IT project management office and drive continuous improvements in the program. This role governs the IT project portfolio, enforces project management frameworks, and ensures successful execution of all IT projects.

The PMO Manager is responsible for governing the IT project portfolio, enforcing project management frameworks, and ensuring successful execution of all IT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for IT Portfolio processes including planning, governance, methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Implement project management standards and practices across the IT project portfolio.
  • Supervise and mentor project managers and coordinators including performance reviews, career growth, and training.
  • Create staffing plans for internal and external resources and recommend long-term contractors or full-time additions.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams through all project phases.
  • Implement effective project communication including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Align project goals with business objectives and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Operate agile/scrum methodologies within the organization's SDLC framework.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in project management of complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks including Scrum, SAFe, and Disciplined Agile.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Team leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, define schedules, allocate resources, and implement processes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to teams.
  • Experience in software product development life cycles is mandatory.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services domain is required.
